Attack of the Sweet Smelling Goo
Brad's been gone long and late hours this term which means I have a lot of time by myself to get into trouble.
Recently while home alone, I gave Lydia a bath, dried her off, lotioned her up, put on her pajamas, and got ready to carry her to bed. As we went toward the bedroom, I immediately felt something crush under my foot. An indistinguishable, but loud gut-wrenching shriek erupted from underneath me. Even though I was holding her, for one terrifying moment I thought I had stepped on and broken Lydia's arm.
Upon looking down, I discovered my victim: a bottle of baby lotion. Despite the preserved imprint of my foot, the damage only included a small dob of lotion on the carpet. I felt rather silly.
After putting the Bug to bed, I found a long thin stripe of lotion on the blanket beside the lotion. "Oh," I thought, "that makes a lot more sense." The little dob on the carpet could not have merited deafening explosion by itself. I wiped up the lotion without another thought. For about thirty seconds.
Then I saw all this:
And this:
And this:
Though, this picture really really doesn't do it justice.
Here's a perspective shot with the lotion in it's original spot:
I'm still finding lotion around the house. On the car seat, in the diaper bag, you name it.

Lydia of Late
I guess I'm a little out of touch with the blogging world as my muse has been quite silent, but I thought I should at least update my fawning blogging public on Miss Lydia Doll. Enjoy!
Yes, Lydia sleeps in the closet. She obviously doesn't take it too hard though because she's a champ at sleeping through the night. (At least it's not the cupboard under the stairs, right?)

Lydie Bug's pastimes include chewing on her hands, bibs, and shirts, but no pacifier for her! (Thanks Grandma Myrna for providing lots and lots of bibs; the slobber monster goes through 'em!)
Lydie Lou spent part of Memorial Day weekend at Temple Square with her mom, dad, and new friend Halie.
Lydia got her parents out of bed the other morning for the Cystic Fibrosis walk. She "walked" for Aunts Erin, Marsha, and Vicky, cousin Holden, and cousin Megan.
Lydia recently met her cousin Kaylee for the first time! They were able to spend the whole day together.
Lydie Lady celebrated Dad's birthday at Uncle Gus' and Aunt Cynthia's. She always loves her cousins!
Lydie's chores include helping with the laundry, but recently she opted for trying on Mom's swimming suit and eating Dad's socks instead. (Don't tell her dad)
Lydie Love is always making new friends. Mom's old roommate Evann stayed the night at the beginning of June, and they instantly hit it off.
Lydia accompanied Mom, Dad, and Evann to their friends' Anne and Brian's wedding. Lucky for her, she also got to see Aunt Lisa and the Black cousins too

A former bath abolitionist, Itty Bitty Lydie has discovered the joy of bath time splashing. (Thanks Grandma Doll for the ducky towel!)
Click here for her newest trick! Rolling over at three months and eight days! Go Lydie, go!
